I know the website states that ED applicants should receive their results in the mail by 12/15 and that these results will be posted online. Does anyone know if the 12/15 date is firm or could we possibly hear earlier?

Last year we heard the Friday before the 15th via e-mail. I think it was the 9th. Good luck!

Thank you!!!!

Heyy, that's less than a month away! Ahhhh

oh man...ahhhh ****

NU should be announcing the number of ED applications fairly soon. It will be interesting to see if the numbers holds steady as in previous years.

Good luck everyone!

Thanks! What's everyone doing while waiting for the results? I'm just looking forward to Thanksgiving break and trying to occupy myself as much as possible.

I will be preparing my RD applications

I see. I'm only applying to one school RD, and it's common app. So I don't have much to do there. Time's going by fast, surprisingly. After Thanksgiving break, we have like 2-3 weeks!

I hope the # of ED applications remains similar to laast year. WHen I look at the recently announced increases at Penn, Columbia, Duke and Yale, I get a bit nervous. If the # increased 21% as it did at Penn, yikes.

Where did all these ED people come from the past year?

i remember vaguely reading something about a year ago (i'll look around, see if i can find the article) talking about how large/competitive the class of 2006 is.

i think there's a general increase in competitiveness across the country, anyway, which doesn't neccesarily translate into talent. i know my school is putting pressure on people to take AP classes (and the exam--which we are required to take), mostly just to raise their ranking. at the same time, classes are getting easier, and i'm sure there's much more pressure to top universities today than there ever has been.

my ap teacher rants about this all the time--how easy his class is now, how the caliber of student has decreased in his ap students, etc. his politics are a bit over dramatic at times, but i think it's a fair argument.

Last year the admissions office announced the # of ED applications on 11/17,not yet this year.

gah, i'm getting anxious
my best friend also applied ED, and he's finally starting to admit that he is too
i hope the emails are early again

Your best friend applied ED to the same school? I sense drama that is to come~

I've kinda emptied my mind. I've been anxious and excited for such a long time that now I'm like apathetic. I'm sure I'll start freaking out again in December though.

Oh yeah, I think staying away from CC is the best way to calm yourself down.

Drama? I doubt it, and that's why he's one of my best friends. If my best girl friend was applying, it might get weird (i'm a girl), but that's why I like boys better. And he needs someone to be his mom while he's at college anyway.

We also both knew we'd probably end up at NU even before we were good friends. I decided to apply early before he did and when he told me he was like, oh **** i just realized you're applying early, too.

I meant drama as in one of you getting in and the other not. But if you're so sure that both of you'll get in, there's no problem then.

two weeks and a few days...

December 9th? That's in 11 days!
