My son was accepted - we are all very happy!

So, why Pickwick? I ask because my hobby is actually collecting things relating to Mr. Pickwick from the Pickwick Papers.

Accepted!! Couldn’t be happier :)

mawmer - I do love the affable Mr. Pickwick, although its been several years since I’ve spent time with him so I’m not quite sure why he popped into my head when I picked a screen name.

can people post stats/info please? it would help a lot

I’ll post some of my stats for you

Decision: Accepted ED I

ACT: Took it…honestly don’t remember what I got, but I didn’t submit it.
SAT IIs: 740 U.S. History, 710-Lit
GPA: 4.07 (weighted-the highest possible is a 4.2, but no one ever really gets above a 4.09)
Rank: Top 1%

Major Awards: AP Scholar with Honor, Wellesley College Book Award, some other smaller city/school ones.

Extracurriculars:
-Too lazy to go in to detail, but Editor-in-Chief of the lit and art magazine (I sent them a copy of one), Secretary of my school’s choir, school concert choir member, Spanish tutor, softball player–on the team for 9 years, Assistant to one my school’s assistant principals, some other things…
-Volunteer/Community Service: Volunteer with young kids at my synagogue’s Sunday school for 5 years, blood drive committee member, a smattering of other things (~60 hours per year for all four years of high school, although I don’t think I really conveyed how much I do on my CommonApp).
-Work experience: Paid overnight camp counselor for what will be my 4th summer.
-Essay: About my love for genealogy-unique topic, not very well crafted.
-Recs: One was absolutely fantastic-nicest thing I’ve ever heard or read about myself. The other paled in comparison, but was still very good.
-Counselor Rec: Who knows. Probably fine. I go to a huge public school, so the counselors don’t really know the students very well.

-State: PA
