Is there any reason that I am unable to find early decision data from Wash U?
US News posts early decision acceptance rates as well as the % of the class which is ED for just about every college offering ED. This info is unavailable for Wash U. Anybody aware of this data or is it not provided to the public?

I would like to have this information also.

WashU does not release these figures, probably because their ED admission rate is low.

Their overall admission rate is 20% (2004).
Their regular admission rate is 21% (2004.)

Since we don't know how many early or regular applicants there were, we can't find the ED acceptance rate.

However, ED acceptance rates are misleading. Most ED colleges defer a significant proportion of their ED applicants. Students that get deferred ED and then accepted RD are not counted towards the ED acceptance rate.

Why is Wash U so secretive about admission stats? It would be helpful for prospective ED applicants to have a rough idea of of % of students accepted ED. All of the schools I am interested in post these stats.

IIRC, they told me they can fill 30%-50% of their incoming class from ED. This seems reasonable, since they would rather have someone eager to go to Wash U than an ivy reject. With in incoming class of about 1360, that would mean probably 500 slots are filled ED. Although I don't have WashU's figures, judging by other schools i would say the number of ED applicants is anywhere from 1500-4000 student.

My counselor told me that the only people that he and his colleagues know that have gotten in to Wash U were ED, until this year that is. So if you really, really want to go to Wash U and you know that it's your number one school, apply ED. If not, you still have a 20% chance in RD.

does it really matter hopeful? If you know you want to go to wash u, apply early, if you don't know, don't apply early.

Yes it does matter to me since I have another school I equally feel is a great fit for me. At leasr Northwestern posts their stats so I can make an educated decision on my chances of gaining acceptance.
Northwestern also disclosed detailed stats regarding specific grad school placement statistics for law, business and medical schools. Wash U has not provided this info.

Relax! I applied ED to Wash U because I saw a good concert in St. Louis.

If you care enough to do this much research now, you probably cared enough to get good enough grades to get into college.

I have seen Wash U grad school statistics before, though I don't remember where. They exist!

have u actually tried calling them? Just because its not easily available on the website doesnt mean its not readily disclosed.

Katie likes country music and is going to get her bad-guy ass kicked at WashU.

Sorry, on-topic now:

WUSTL is unlikely to disclose that information to students, especially if they refused to tell any other source. Just relax and know that ED will be a marginal advantage. If you love WUSTL and it's a reach (but not super-reach), apply ED. Otherwise, place your 'double or nothing' chip somewhere else.
