ED Stern Chance a Junior!!!

hey just a junior who wants to know my chances
SAT - 1570
GPA- 94/100 (2 B’s , One in Precalc, One in Chem (Both Honors classes). Not sure what is a 94 in 4.0 scale.
Rank- Top 10-15% (my school doesn’t rank, just speculating)
Here is my course load for Junior Year. In freshmen and sophomore I took the most rigorous course load allowed.
AP Calc AB, AP Stats, AP Lang, AP Comp Sci, Honors Spanish 4 and Honors Physics self studying AP Micro or macro. not sure which one is better so self study!
Plan on taking another subject test 800 on Math II

Currently School Vice President
Coordinator for ALL School Clubs
HOOK- I own a sneaker reselling business, have owned if for about 4 years and generated almost 300,000+$ in sales. A good amount in profit.
President of DECA Club
President of a cultural club.
I tutor low income students for 5 hours a week
I run a course in my school to teach the lower and middle schoolers about the basics of financial literacy.
Varsity Basketball and Track

Owning a business is not a hook. Nor something adcoms hope to find in applicants.

And most adults have some distrust a 16 year old can truly “teach” financial literacy, with limited life experience, still living at home.

Handle these two points wrong and you can affect your chances.

Can you elaborate on why colleges won’t find the business as a hook?

Because their first purpose is academic. And then their sense of themselves as cooperative and collaborative communities where kids grow, try new things, expand.

You misunderstand what a college admit hook is.

Don’t be misled by the number of kids who write a chance me thread all out how much money they make, how influential they are, etc. When colleges describe what they look for, it’s not “built a business” or “made more than other kids.”
