is there anyone out there who applied ED to nyu (stern/cas) and has not heard anything yet?? btw, im international, i noticed that there are still a few out there who, despite ALL emails sent out, still havent heard a thing. just want to know how many there are? and what we should do? call? when? are they even in their office today?

Here!
I applied ED to Stern and heard nothing....
so nervous

I think they only work Mondays to Fridays.

I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow and I'm just going to do the "zen" thing and not think too much about it; I e-mailed them and hopefully when I come back I'll get an e-mail or a letter.

I hate waiting!

I haven't heard either. I have only heard of one person in my state who was heard, so I am still holding out hope/ counting the hours until my mail comes on monday.

^i think the whole admission process works differently for US students, mail arrival depends on the post office. but for internationals, which they are supposed to have sent us emails, we should have received the emails online. something is wrong.

^ I agree. Something is going wrong...
I heard today that a girl in my friend's school called NYU and asked about decision,
and heard that she was rejected.....
sigh

Anyoung..r u international? and i thot they dont work on weekends??

I think both of you should contact NYU directly by making a call; the NYU forum thingy said that all international emails were out on the 11th.

ok, but im not sure which number it is. and whether we should add any numbe in front of the number provided. i dont know how telephone numbers in US work. also, is it available on weekends?

(212) 998-4500

I highly doubt that they would be in the office on a weekend, wait until tomorrow.

Oh, if you are calling the US from abroad i think you would have to dial the number like this

0112129884500

yeah emails are instant.. if your international i would recommend calling the admissions office tomorrow (monday) eastern time

thanks both..so 011 is the country code for US, and is there any code for NY?
is it ok if i call at 11.00pm tmr at our time, which i think is around 10.00 am or you guys on the 15th.

ok..i'll rephrase my question? wat is the exact time i can call nyu office, i'll do the math myself and convert it to my time..lol..need some help

Check your junk mail/spam just to be safe--you never know what may happen with your email filter

thanks for reminding. i certainly did, ive been doing that for 3 whole days, as well as refreshing my inbox...lol..not just me, some other ppl in this forum have the same problem...something to do with gmail??

Most offices open at 9am EST, so whatever that is for you.

Ok, the US code is 001 and the NY code is 212. So call like this...

0012129884500

I still haven't heard anything...I would just like to know at this point (but too nervous to call) so that I can get started on other apps that are due Jan. 1st (I have no idea how I'm going to get them done if I get rejected).

It's just hard to get started on anything else when I'm still waiting. I live in Georgia though, so any news will probably take longer to reach me since I'm farther out :|.

kiwi: you should always prepare for the worst.. I have plenty of outstanding RD and EA applications at a variety of schools.. i know its hard to focus on anything else right now but you should prepare and assume that you may get denied so that you arent upset and fcked if you get denied

Kiwi... Start working now!! I applied to 9 schools!

It is better to be safe than sorry!

Yeah, I know.
I started a few applications and need to finish them soon. The biggest part for me will be contacting teachers to get them to send rec letters (again)...

But yeah, I have an ominous feeling I'm going to get rejected; so I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

But yeah I realllllly need to get started on those...

What schools did are you guys applying to? I need some ideas...right now I have Boston U, Boston College, and Umich...
