ED Students

Hey, I'm new to this, and I would like to get to know a couple people that have already been accepted ED to NU. I applied to SESP and I wanna major in Secondary Education.

Welcome to SESP. It's one of NU's best kept secrets!

Thanks! =) I'm really excited about it actually...can't wait til September!

I got in ED for SESPY, are you going next year too?

Yup....NU was the only school I applied to lol...kinda risky, I know. And I take it ur going there too wy06?

hey, i did the same thing you did guerrerom06...northwestern was the only school i applied to. i figured that if necessary, i still had a little time to apply elsewhere. luckily i didn't have to, and i'm going to medill next year! yessss...

yea, that's where I'm going. So I take it you want to become a teacher?

Don't generalize SESP students as teachers. The school has a lot more to offer than that.

Well, actually I DO want to become a teacher, wy06. What are you majoring in?

I'm not sure yet, I might do the one with psychology or LOC, my sister did LOC

Haha...that was my thought process exactly. Do u know what school you would've applied to if you wouldn't have chosen NU? And congrats on getting into Medill! =)

What does LOC deal with the majority of the time? And did your sister like it?

I'm in LOC and I love it. It deals with organizations, leadership, management, ways of looking at organizations, and how to deal with change... it's a pretty dynamic and interesting major.

um, i was thinking about applying to university of chicago (i know, i look back and think "what the hell was i thinking?!"), american university, maybe syracuse, and reapplying to NU if i could. i can't remember everywhere else. thank God that didn't happen, because i definitely didn't have a very well thought out plan. and congrats to you too!

Yea, like dfleish said. She really liked it she said the personal attention with the advisors is unmatched in any of the other NU colleges and I think it helped her get into law school. She's working for a year, but she's going to Georgetown Law next year.

That is true for all of SESP. The advising and attention is AMAZING for a big school. Anyone will tell you that.
