ED syracuse chances?

Hi ! Syracuse is my dream school and its the only college I know of that has both a (good) illustration program AND a communication disorders major.

I’m a junior and I plan on applying ED to the college of liberal arts and sciences and the college of visual and preforming arts as a double major.

Currently, my weighted gpa is 3.5 and my uw is 3.3, although before my first semester this year it was 3.8 and 3.6 and i’m hoping my good grades this semester will bring it back up.

I have yet to take the SAT and ACT

I’ve taken Ap Human geography, ap us history, advanced painting, honors english 10, honors english 11/12, honors us history and i plan on taking ap german and ap comp next year (tho idk if it will matter if i apply ed)

I really struggled my first semester this year, w chemistry and geometry, as im not good w either of those(i plan on mentioning tht in my essay), getting my first D’s after years of just A’s and B’s, and it dropped my gpa but i hope i can bring it all up if i get all A’s this semester.

I have been student of the month, and participated in art for social change club since 9th grade, creative writing club since this year(it was formed this year), astronomy club since 9th grade, and am doing the spring musical and art and soul fest this year.

Please just let me know if I do really well on my tests, will i have a chance at syracuse!!!

I think you will definitely have a chance. I got accepted ED II to their Newhouse School which everyone says is one of the harder ones. Syracuse’s ED acceptance rate is also very high as well.

My unweighted is a 3.4 and my weighted is a 3.9. I took the ACT twice and no SAT. I got a 29 on the first one and a 30 on the second one and superscored it ended up being a 32. Don’t be afraid to take the tests more than once because SU does superscore. I also think that my first semester senior grades really helped as well as I only had one B and in my first two years of high school I had multiple C’s so always aim for an upward trend.

My extracurriculars were theatre (which showed a huge time commitment) and then a lot of leadership opportunities but it was not an amazing amount. I think Syracuse likes people who show interest so really demonstrate that in your essays. Do an interview with the school because that will help as well. Get in contact with them and visit if you can.
