ED Theater Dorks?

Guilty as charged.

I just want to get a sense of how many of us ED NU CCers (check me out, exploiting abbreviations) are applying to the Theatre program at Northwestern?
I mean, if they only accept 50 guys and 50 girls i wanna know how much competition there is here! even though my fate has already been decided shudder haha just personal interest.

Genderrr: FEMALE

I am applying to the theatre program as well.

Gender: Female.

So am I.

And I'm also female.

Ahh! Are there any theater Cherubs here?

Can you guys also specify whether you're doing acting or production?

Thanks. I'm eding for theater production.

I'm applying for theatre-acting :)

lima are you also female?

@geezy: what's a Theatre Cherub?

Um, yeah, I'm a girl.

haaa sorry i'm such a stalker.

I'm also applying for acting.

Cherubs is another name for the National High School Institute, which is a summer program at NU. Theater Cherubs spend the summer before senior year living on campus and getting intensive conservatory style training. It's amazing. I think it's probably the best summer theater program for high schoolers in the country. A lot of Cherubs end up applying/going to Northwestern, but I'm not sure how many are doing ED. Last year I think about 15 or 16 of the 180 theatre cherubs ended up at NU (which is a lot considering most decide to go to conservatories.) After living at NU for 7 weeks, I knew I absolutely had to apply ED. But man, the wait is killing me!

I KNOW. IT'S KILLING ME TOO. It's weird though...it's not that I can't picture myself at any other university but Northwestern, it's just that I can't imagine STILL not knowing where I'm going to university by December 15th. You know? Like I don't want the stress of RD applications.

And obviously NU is my absolute dream school, like i truly have fallen in love with it but I feel so weird waiting... and waiting and waiting...

To answer your question, Lima, I'm applying for production (directing/stage managing).

im cherub numba 89 WOOOOOOOOOOT!

While I'm not personally applying to theatre (I have no talent, whatsoever lol), I want to wish luck to all of yall. NU's theatre is amazing and good luck to all - obviously you guys are talented! :)

totally a cherub, and totally applying ED for theatre.

liebo? is that you? 89? I LOVE YOU LIEBO

and geezy, what cherub are you?

My D was a Cherub and I think 20 ended up going from the 2007 Summer class. I think it was even more the year before. NU's theater is a GREAT program and the environment is so stimulating for kids interested in the arts. My D is a theater freshman and SOOOO happy! Good luck to all of you theater dorks!

i'm cherub numba 52!! how do you know that 89 is liebo? HI LIEBO if you are liebo

Hey everyone,

I applied ED theater-acting too. Gender: Male The Theater at NU is amazing, and I would absolutely lovee to be a part of it. Less than a week till we find out!!

eh this is my first time posting anything on CC, but anyhow..

i applied ED to NU for theater as well and im a girl. =]
is it really true that they only accept 50 females and 50 males?

oh god, i told myself i wouldn't post, but i'm having such flashbacks to last december.

from an NU theatre major - they have to accept more than 50 and 50, because the incoming class is around 100, and not everyone they accept winds up going to northwestern. my freshman class is 109 including a few dance majors, i think the sophomores are 104 or so... so it's a ballpark thing.

good luck!

THAT MAKES ME HAPPY :) thanks abmunch, even though it's still going to be a stretch to get in, i've got my fingers crossed for all of us and the fact that they ballpark it means our chances are a little higher, if only by an inkling!
