ED then switch to RD?

<p>Just curious, suppose you applied ED to your dream school, but then after you sent in your app, say in the middle of November, you found out there was some issues (money, you changed your mind, etc.), could you contact the admissions office and ask them to characterize your app as RD?</p>

<p>(p.s. I'm not thinking of doing this or anything---it just came up in a conversation in class today)</p>

<p>I think I have read on CC that, some people have withdrew their ED before decisions were out (or changed to RD).</p>

<p>You should be able to do so up until you get the decision.</p>
