<p>Am i allowed to apply Early Decision to 2 schools?
I am thinking about New York University and Tufts University.</p>
<p>NYU ED deadline is 11/1 and they say decisions are sent mid December.
TU ED deadline is 1/1. </p>
<p>So am I allowed to apply ED to NYU right now and prepare my ED application for Tufts and if denied to NYU, submit it to Tufts?</p>

<p>As entomom said you can apply EDII to Tufts. You'll get your ED decision from NYU and if rejected you can apply to Tufts EDII</p>
<p>As long as you apply as you indicated...apply to NYU now under their ED plan. If you are not accepted to NYU, then you may submit your ED application to Tufts for their EDII deadline.</p>
<p>Some schools will have an EDII deadline to capture students in your situation. You have two top choices. You apply to your first choice ED. You are not accepted, but you have a clear second choice that you would also love to attend. So you apply EDII and hopefully are done with applying. </p>
<p>You may have other non-early decisions active while you are applying ED to an institution. So, if you have backup schools to NYU and Tufts, you can have regular applications out to them, just in case. If you are then accepted ED, you simply notify the schools you have applied to regular that you will not be attending.</p>
