I really liked CMU, specifically CIT for biomedical engineering (BME). And I would apply early decision there (and I think I would be happy), but the problem is the rest of my life I would wondering "I wonder if I would have gotten into MIT..." MIT is unlikely for anyone but applying ED at CMU would really help my chances of admission. So it's a tough choice.

Here's my profile if you want to see it. But has anyone had to make a similar decision?

Why don’t you apply EA to MIT and RD to a bunch of different schools, including CMU?

The thing is that the rep at CMU told us that applying ED really helps, and I think I have a good chance of getting in if I do ED. But RD it’s more of a toss up. That’s what I’m trying to decide.

I mean, the thing is, your stats are REALLY great. Don’t get me wrong, CMU is a great school, but I think your chances of getting in there are still high, even if you apply RD.
