By my senior year, I will have completed 170 service hours and have some very good recommendations. I am also ranked 3rd out of 100 students and have held this rank throughout highschool Please chance me for the following:

ED to Harvard

Harvard is EA only, and you should probably figure out whether you want Columbia, Harvard or Princeton ;)

With those ECs and a 1900, I don't think so. How about your SAT IIs?

you all are forgetting that Harvard is not offering the Early Action plan to anyone for admission to the Class of 2012.

Ignoring semantics over whether Harvard has ED or EA...can you get in? Your EC's are phenomenal, as are your grades. The big blip is your SAT. Is there some explanation that you can offer? If not you might want to retake.

1900 is really low for harvard

oh, BTW, those GPA listings are supposed to be Weighted** sorry...

retake it again and get a 2000+ and you might have a chance. But 1900 . . .

dear jtivy,

don't stress home skillet. i didn't actually get a 2401. That's not mathmatically possible. But seriously, I think you shouldn't be discouraged by the onslaught of criticism from uptight beezies on this website. As an ivy-leaguer myself, I can tell you that a well-rounded, former Smith-Barney intern has great chances. Your gpa looks strong, and i think that can make up for an honestly low SAT score (you may want to retake it, because judging by your resume, you're an extremely intelligent kid). Your ECs are awesome and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Keep your chin up, sport. And interviews are more important than you think. So be nice. Also, hotness sometimes = bonus points. Just kidding. But not really.

best wishes, don't be discouraged,

your friend, and neighbor, and peer,

sincerely,
rachael

p.s. it's "council"

igota-

Thanks for the inspiration, I really appreciate it! Nice wise words of wisdom. BTW, what ivy do you go to?

-JT

P.S.- "hotness sometimes = bonus points"...if only it were true.
