ED to the same school as my URM/recruited/legacy classmates - Help!

I planned to ED to Penn, but several of my friends (with similar preferences) also are applying there ED!

Don't get me wrong - it'd be wonderful if we could all attend the same college. Unfortunately, my school has historically received 0-2 acceptances from Penn each year...so I doubt we'd all get accepted.

Though my grades/scores are slightly higher and we have different extracurricular niches, I simply cannot compete with them! They are URMs, recruited athletes, and legacies; I embody the "anti-hook" (Asian, suburban, upper-middle class, from California, etc.)

With several "hooked" classmates gunning for Penn, are my chances down the drain? Should I just move on and forget about Penn?

You may as well drop out of high school now, your life is automatically over seeing as your not going to Penn

Colleges don’t limit a certain amount of students from a single high school. Whether or not your peers are accepted or rejected will have little effect on your own acception or rejection.

Just apply and see. You just need to do something in your application to stand out. I think legacy has an edge in ED. You may get deferred to RD where legacy does not apply.

Penn can take you all or reject you all. They aren’t operating under some quota or goal to accept only 2 per year.
