Hello Fellow CC'ers!
I am currently a junior in high school and here are my stats:
SAT: 800M, 800W, 740CR
SAT 2: 780 M, 760 Physics, 750 Lit
GPA: 3.90(UW), 4.36(W)
Rank: 5 out of 440
Others: Race: Chinese, Gender: F, ECs: 6 clubs, 2 leaderships, Essays: I believe they will be great(:
I am very interested in Wharton, Columbia, and Duke; I have also heard that applying ED will greatly increase my chances of getting in. However, I am not sure if I will ED as I would like to try my chances at Harvard (RD). I am aware that my stats and everything are quite lackluster so I am wondering if I should just go ahead and apply ED to a school so I can boost my chances of getting accepted.
As stated, the only problem I have with applying ED (no financial issues) is that I'm afraid it might limit my chances to getting into Harvard, but I know that Harvard will be a far-reach for me and quite impossible, however I'm afraid that I might regret not even trying to apply to the greatest school in the world. Should I just ED to a school, increase my chances of getting in, or apply to all colleges RD and possibly get rejected from all-as my stats are as previously stated quite lackluster.
I will be majoring in Economics (cont. in Finance) so if you guys could please tell me about the connections different colleges will offer me, job placement, and overall prestige of the schools.
Basically, will applying ED increase my chances of getting in Wharton, Duke, or Columbia?
Thank you all very much!

Duke and Penn consider “level of applicant’s interest”, and applying ED is the strongest expression of interest there is.

But ED is not really appropriate if the school is not your clear first choice.

This is really unbecoming.

Your stats are lackluster? Your common sense, more like it. SMH
