I was pretty confident that I had a good chance at Berkeley.. but..

I'm going to end up with 4 B's and 1 A out of 5 classes my first semester senior year.. which would drastically lower my GPA.

And I also found out UC schools only take 2 Honors/APs into weighting consideration per semester.. what the hell? Shouldn't have messed up freshmen year.

But then again, I have an okay SAT.. (higher than what you'd expect from someone with a 3.7)

So, chance me please :(.. did anyone here on CC get into Berkeley with a GPA lower than mine?

Race: 1st gen Asian (non-Chinese/Indian)
UC GPA (Weighted) : 3.97 / 4.2 (if UC considers more than 2 APs per sem)
UC GPA (Unweighted) : 3.71 ish?

APs + Honors Total: 10 (5 from senior year)

SAT I : 2300 (800R, 700W, 800M)
SAT IIs : 800 Math II / 790 Korean / 750 Bio-M / 710 Lit

A-G Courses: 48

Community Service Hours: 250+

Leadership:
Badminton (Varsity) Captain
Vice President of 2 clubs

Awards & Honors:
AP Scholar with Distinction
National Merit Semi-Finalist
Won 2 regional speech & debate tournaments

Activities:
Speech and Debate (4 years)
Badminton (2 years)
Student Legislative Council (1 year)

Hooks / Hardships:
A few regarding family hardships.

:(.. I'm so discouraged by my senior year 1st sem grades.. ****.

Senior grades are not considered by the UC system. Also that stat about the UC system only accepting so many honors/AP classes is deceptive. That was only used to calculate eligibility, ie. to calculate if your GPA is high enough to guarantee you a spot at any of the UCs.

Don’t worry, Berkeley uses a fully comprehensive review system to determine who gets in. I can’t speak with absolute certainty, but I’ll just say that your stats are much better than what got me into EECS, so you’ll probably be fine. Also, under their review system, freshman year ends up carrying significantly less weight than sophomore and junior year.

Stop worrying though. You got 4 months til decisions come out. You should spend them enjoying life, not worrying about college admission decisions that are now out of your control :)
