My common app essay was pretty good, as was my Penn essay. I wrote the optional page 217, it had some humor in it but it wasn't so much that the essay would be bad if the admission person doesn't find it funny.
I'm not sure if I forgot anything
What are my chances for admission, honestly?

Also, teacher recs from 11th grade physics and chem teachers should be pretty good, got a pretty good one from my cross country coach and a very good one from the person who runs the Friendship Circle volunteer program

Chance threads are a little funky because most people here really aren’t admissions officers who are able to actually see everything and compare to everyone else’s application. However, I can tell you that your grades/scores are great for Wharton (good math scores are a huge plus). Also, your 640 Chem won’t be considered – only your 700.

You’ve got plenty of EC’s and hopefully good recs, so I mean, based on the information given, you has just as good a shot as any. The only thing I’d be wary of is the essays. Humor can help, but it can also hurt if it’s done in poor taste. I generally consider it a good idea to have many people read your essay to give you feedback.

based on quality/rigor of school, your transcript seems great! EC’s are fantastic, ACT’s are right on par, and the PSAT commended scholar is great… I think you have a good shot; definitely don’t discount yourself… and yeah, as above, get 304 people you trust to give you feedback, b/c oftentimes, they can really help improve the quality of your essay… Please chance me back!!

You have as good a shot as any top applicant. Now it becomes a crapshoot. As long as your essays and recs really are solid, you should have a pretty fair shot.

you have a great chance in my opinion. like someone already said, the high math scores are excellent for Wharton. great ACT score. Hopefully that chem subject test won’t bring you down, but I doubt it will.

I think they’ll consider both. They’ll see that you have an awesome ACT score and they’ll see that you did really well on writing and math on the SAT. I don’t think your 670 CR will weigh down your app TOO much.

I’m less optimistic about your chances than everyone else on this thread. White/male/NJ won’t do you any favors. You have good test scores, but nothing else pops.

How strong is your school exactly? Do students with your gpa usually go to Ivies?

Meh. I go to an Ivy thats similar to Penn. I don’t think you have a shot brah. I also came from a similar high school. You’re prolly just another bro from NJ. Penn’s prolly got enough of those.

Not really. You’ll prolly get in. The only problem I foresee is that its Wharton. Good luck.
