Does anyone know the stats on EDI this year -- how many applied? Stats from the last couple years would be helpful too, thanks.

I'm not a math person, so perhaps with the following information you can calculate the raw numbers:

According to Tufts University- Admissions Statistics http://admissions.tufts.edu/admstat.htm
last year 42% of the 1279 freshmen enrolled via early decision. Another parent here on CC, who is an alum interviewer for Tufts, told me that for the class of 2008, 34% of those who applied ED were accepted. Overall, 27% of all who applied were admitted.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I'm sorry, just noticed the typo in my post above... 44%, not 34%, of those applying ED last year were accepted.

Wow, if 44% were accepted ED and only 27% were accepted overall...the % of kids who got in regular must be like 18 or 19%

Actually it's 25% for LA because engineering is only a small fraction of the overall class (150-200?)
