Hey,

How much does ED help in admissions? Im unhooked, with no legacies and Im not a URM. Is it a pretty substantial difference, or no? I think Im prob in that 25 % range of admitted students for standardized tests, so would ED be able to boost me up?

There are some good stats on this topic in the admissions cover story that is in the current issue of Vanderbilt Magazine, the alumni publication. There are 2 other threads providing links up right now, except the latest issue showing on the web is the fall issue featuring the cover story on Muhammad Yunnus, the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner who is a VU grad. I don't know what is taking so long, but some enterprising sole should call the alumni office and ask when this content will become available!
The short answer to your question is yes -if you have the passion for Vanderbilt that should be part of an ED decision and it is evident in your essays, the stats indicate a big plus.
