Course Load: Most challenging (according to my counselor)
Class rank: My school doesn’t rank

And to chance (I’ll be very blunt):

Decent GPA
Weak SAT (average NYU stern’s sat is a 1450/1600)
Good EC’s

 • Hopefully your essays, recs, and ECs are great as you portray them to be

I think I’ll be rejected also… and even if I did get in there’s the matter of whether I can afford it (or take out a crap ton of loans, which I wont do).

My friend got accepted last year and only had 1k out of 65k offered for fun aid so I hear you…

Chancing you:

Honestly I think you’d get in. You had a really nice SAT. You’re GPA is okay. You’ve got plenty of EC’s and volunteer work. Besides your gpa, essays and rec (which you didn’t mention), I think you have a solid chance of getting in. Maybe do ED?

Your ECs are pretty good. You’ll prbly need a higher score for Stern. But I think your overall is pretty good since you already have work experience in business. Good luck.

Honestly I think your EC are really good. And you have the LGBT thing on your side!
If your essays are good…you have a really really good chance of getting in, especially because of ED1

I know I didnt talk about your scores, but they seem alright- to be brutally honest not too great for Stern. But as long as your present yourself well - you’ve totally got the life experiences to\ get you in

Good luck :)

GPA/SAT scores are definitely on the low side, especially for Stern. But based on what you say about your essay/recs and your EC’s, I’d say you definitely have a decent shot at getting in. Your business experience is a huge plus. Hope it works out

good EC but the gpa/act is a bit low. I know that most people who get into Stern have 4.0+ GPA and 33 ACT. If you really want to go to NYU then do ED to CAS

bump

Why does it seem like almost half the CC students have “DECA” (not sure what this is) on their apps (not trying to bash it)? It’s interesting how so many people have a common activity or interest.

Because it’s a popular/widespread activity and one of the few business related things schools offer.

Stern ED1 Applicant. SAT 2200. Loads of business related and other ECs.

@sgballsta‌ bruhhh you’re scores are incredible. you’ll get in dw.

Also applying ED1. SAT 2150, president of community service club, other ECs but no work experience. Honestly while we can compare all we want, our biggest competition is within our respective schools. Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed!

Also applying ED1  SAT 2120; ACT 31 but just retook and I’m hoping my superscore will be a 33! Great recs/essay! 3.6/4.0 GPA UW. Bunch of ECS! I think we all have a good chance but you never know! Any of you, message me if you want!

wow this makes me feel like I definitely won’t get in here lmao.

What other business schools is everyone applying to? I’m also doing UMich, UNC Chapel Hill, Columbia, Duke, CMU (all very competitive ugh) and then BC, Northeastern, Rutgers, and Lehigh.

@ramenforlife I’m applying UMich (EA) and BC (regular)

@ramenforlife‌ You’re in!
