ED2 decisions...

when do you think ED2 decisions will be available?

[First-Year :: Admission :: Mount Holyoke College](http://www.mtholyoke.edu/admission/firstyear.html)

The notification date is February 1st.

who knows, it can just appear in your mail box any day. They said that ED1 result was to be out on 1st Jan, but I knew of it on 16th Dec. So I think you should expect three or four, I don’t know, days before the official notification date. Good luck girl!

Do they post decisions when they are done with reviewing all applicants or when they’re done with your application then they post it to your space?

This year, for ED1, MoHo posted all decisions at the same time, not on a rolling basis.

Although the ED1 notification deadline was Jan 1, at my D’s interview by an admissions person, my D was told that the decisions would be out 30 days after the filing deadline (Nov. 15). And sure enough, they came out just exactly then, 2 weeks earlier than the “official” notification deadline date.

However, for you it will likely depend upon how many ED and RD applications are received.

Notifiication was an e-mail saying that the letter was available on line on ISIS. You should get your ISIS login name and password soon. My D received it within a week after the filing date, however, again, for you that would depend upon how many ED2 and RD applications are received.

Good luck! If you can, try to forget about it all, else you’ll go nuts!

Thanks Dad! Did you duagther see her decision in e-mail or only in the ISIS account?

I think they won’t post decisions now coz it took them a month to post ED 1 results so it’d be probably the same thing with ED 2.

Is it possible to know at the moment how many students applied ED 2?

BDW Does MoHo looks for diversity, like from which country you apply from because in the map they posted on their website I didn’t see many Europeans and no one from my country so… :D

My D saw her decision only in the ISIS login account, although the e-mail telling her that the decision was posted there was very positive (“We are pleased to tell you that the decision is posted on ISIS”). However, maybe it is the same e-mail if the decision is negative (thankfully, I did not see one of those e-mails or decisions).

It seems that MoHo really likes foreigners, and from more places the better. That is one of MoHo’s biggest selling points, and a big reason for my D’s interest in MoHo. But being a foreigner is, I would guess, only one piece of the puzzle. The other pieces have to match up too, if you get my drift.

So far, I have not seen anything about how many ED1 applications were filed or accepted, and likewise, nothing about ED2. In fact, one can file ED2 commitments until Jan. 15, so I do not expect to see any statistics about ED (or RD) applications for a long while, likely not until after May 31, when the whole process should be done. I do keep checking the MoHo News on line, but school’s pretty much closed until the end of January, so I suspect there will no MHN for a while.

Great thanks, I appreciate your responses. I see you are knowledgeable about admission process so would you mind if I could send you a PM concerning colleges un the States?

Just a little note: ED 2 deadline is till Jan 1. St least was when I applied.

Lulu: You are right, the MoHo ED2 deadline was Jan. 1. So you will not have to wait too much longer. Good luck to you, and the other MoHo ED2ers and RDers.

This is my admission notification email. Does it contain anything positive?

When I woke up 6AM in the morning and saw this mail, I was like “Oh my god, I am dead!!! They rejected me!!!” But so lucky it turned out to be the opposite:))

I heard that about 40% of MHC’s population is international and non-white American. In other word, they emphasize strongly on diversity.

you applied ED2?!

Sorry just saw ur posts, you were ED1 if im not mistaken.
congrats! if u applied for FA, did u get lots of money in loans?

yeah I was accepted ED1. Sadly beside the grant money, there is a loan of $3500 per year, and in accordance with the rising cost, loan money will be increased, the interest rate is 8% which accrues after 6 months of graduation (that is what I read on the financial policy enclosed in the acceptance package). So I expect to pay back $20,000 after graduation, quite a lot of money.

That’s pretty much money to pay back when you are only like 22. :S

P.S. If I’m not satisfied with my FA package can I reject the offer and go to non-US university instead?

I don’t think so. MHC makes it possible for all accepted students to attend, so their FA package calculation will be based on your family needs and your stated contribution. So it means if you are accepted ED2 then you cannot back out of the contract only because of your unsatisfactory FA package.

Correct me if I am wrong people.

anyway lulu where are you from:)

Croatia, Europe.

2 more weeks!! :bump:

watch some tennis!!! It’s Australian Open now!!!

Why tennis?
European Championship in handball starts soon!

Decisions are out!!! But I can’t open it… im kinda scared :S
