Bump

I think your chances of admission as undecided or general engineering are excellent. But the BME major is incredibly competitive - don’t they take only a handful of students into this program?

You might get more replies if you post a general question in the Admissions or Parent Forum area, perhaps asking about more than one school.

I agree with @surfcity. You have a great shot and you’ve done very well in HS. But Bucknell Engineering is extremely competitive and Biodmed even more competitive. Going ED2 was a wise choice (in my opinion). Bucknell is an awesome place - hopefully you will get great news soon!

Regarding Bucknell’s Biomedical Engineering major…

Max number of majors per class year is 18, but they must admit more than that to make the number, in case some people decide to switch majors or not go to Bucknell at all. I believe last year they had 9-13 people majoring in Biomed.

I have no idea how many people apply for the major, though.

I think this is how it works in the engineering school.

You apply for your first choice major, and if you’re admitted you’re guaranteed a spot in that major after engineering 101. If you’re not admitted directly to the major, you can still be admitted to the engineering school, and then try to get into that major program after engineering 101, however, the people who were admitted directly to the major have dibs over you.

I know a kid who applied undecided engineering and got into biomedical engineering after engineering 101. (The required first class for all engineering students).
