does ed 2 really boost ur chances?
I applied rd and am extremely sad .

Please chill out. This is no time to be sad, just wait and see what happens; you have already submitted the application. You probably should not be sad unless Emory is the college you applied to. No offense, but if merely applying to college is breaking your spirit, then you may need to see someone. You need to know that “everyone” is taking a risk when they apply to college, especially a selective one. However, this generally should not bring about sadness before one even receives the decision.

Maybe he’s just ■■■■■■■■ us all.

No, he’s not a ■■■■■…he missed ED2 deadline…

to the OP: did you call Emory? and are you full pay? they may still let u change IMO…

if you are applying for FA, it won’t make a difference ED2 or RD; if they want you, you’ll be fine…

Fuzzleshnops I am really upset that you think that way. You probably said it without a second thought but it hurts me because I feel that I come off as a ■■■■■ to emory board. I am pretty sure you’ve experienced all the anxieties I am going through right now. I think it’s normal for anyone who really wants to go to their dream school to feel depressed or really worried that they won’t get in and I am sure you understand that although you know posting here doesn’t increase your chances, you just want some feedback. Just something from people who know about the school. My stats suck and I need a lot of luck to get in but if I do, I will not say what you said to future applicants although this is merely an online board because I’ve been so desperate, I will understand them.

@bernie
I am sad because I am regretting my choice to do RD. I am sad because I think ED is the only way to show my passion for the school and I made the wrong decision thinking I will get 2300+ on january SAT and increase my chance.

I emailed them but I got no reply. I think it’s too late to switch :(

Did you display any other signs of interest? Also, You probably have not received the scores yet (have you?), perhaps you may score higher on at least one section so that your superscore is higher. Don’t know how sending scores after submitting the application works though. Perhaps someone else does. Either way, don’t despair, have some faith. I was actually afraid to apply until convinced by a friend that I had a decent chance. Needless to say that you might also. I had only like a 2190 superscore and I was fine. Also, having a 13___ between math and verbal (2010 composite indicates that this is probably your case) gives you about as much a chance as everyone else if you are as well-rounded as the rest of the applicant pool. Once I applied (RD by the way), I just let it ride. It became something more to get over with as opposed to freak out over. Also, did you apply to Oxford too. If you really wanted to go to Emory and feared denial, you should have applied there. I imagine it to be different student life experience with equivalent academic quality and rigor.

I think you are mistaken about something… my sat score is 2010 Superscored…
;(

That’s fine. Was math/verbal 13____?

660 690 - 1350…and I am asian.

That’s mid-50 dude. It’s fine. Emory is like 30-4__% Asian (depends on the demographics of the large percent who didn’t report an ethnicity) and out mid-50 is still like a low 1300 to a high 1400. Having a flat 1300 may put you at a disadvantage, but you scored beyond that. You’re probably fine. Best of luck. Hope to have you here in fall. You aren’t from Georgia are you? If so, you should have also applied to Georgia Tech depending on your intended major. Same stats. but theoretically higher chance of getting in. Awesome school.

Just chill dude. All you can do is wait now.

I think your stats are a little on the low side. I think it’s BS talking about if you’re still in the middle 50% that you’ll be okay. If you’re in the 25-50% range, you need something amazing to compensate.

And you have no sense of humor at all.

fuzzleshnops, I think you are being a bit too hard on him or her. I understand his or her anxiety. But, try not to worry too much. Now that you applied, just let the actions take its course. Good luck!
