Is NYU's early decision binding? When do results come out? Also, I'm wondering what the penalty is for applying ED at more that one place and getting caught. I don't plan on doing this, I just wonder.

Anything that is dubbed "early DECISION" is binding. If something is "early ACTION" then it won't be. And all I can say about applying ED at more than one school is DON'T DO IT. If you get accepted at both, it's a legal document that you sign saying you will go, and you could potentially get sued... anyway, it'll be very ugly. I hope you or anyone you know didn't think about doing it... it's unfair for other kids who stick to the rules.

Yes ED at NYU is binding. The results come out every December (thus this year's results are already in).

If you do ED at more than one place, you'll very likely not get into either place if this fact is found out. You're basically signing a contract (your parents also sign if you're under 18) saying you won't apply anywhere else....its a big risk with your college admissions prospects to break an ED agreement.
