Is this really something we need to do? It seems like it's more for accepted RDers that are unsure about Cornell. Just trying to make my plans ahead of time.

Yeah, for the most part its for students accepted RD and trying to weigh their options from what I understand…however, I’m an accepted EDer and will be attending! It’s just an exciting glimpse ahead to what awaits us.

same here. did you guys get anything from the college since the acceptance letter and t-shirt? i haven’t heard from them for a long time… :(

yah I heard that last year after you sent in your deposit Cornell apparently ignores you until April 1st!

and yea, I was accepted ED and I’m heading up for Cornell DAYS. (I’m from Miami, FL) there’s no way I can wait til next August haha

oh mine, thats a long time for students to wait! but thanks a lot for telling me this, runner43.
i’ll be there for cornell days as well since i never visited the college.

My child did not attend Cornell days and it wasn’t a problem - it was too difficult and expensive at the time.

Here are some things you can do while you wait.

Enjoy high school. Get a summer job if you need the money - now’s the time to apply.

Look online and elsewhere for scholarships - there’s some opportunities out there, but they all take time.

Create a “Cornell” notebook (online or offline or both) with all your important facts and figures including your passwords, ss#, important phone numbers, resume, essays (you can use them later for job/internship applications), etc.) As most things Cornell are online, this notebook will help you as you navigate all the forms and information this spring, summer and fall.

Plan a fun transitional event that marks the end of high school and start of college - something that speaks of you. . . .mountain hike, contribution of some kind. . .

Read about Cornell’s outdoor adventure activities and precollege events. These are really exciting but take some planning for since they cost money.

If you plan to work when you’re at Cornell, you might want to preview the job listings (you may have to wait for your id#) to get an idea of what’s available.

Stay on task at school and keep your grades up.

Best of luck to all, a great experience with endless opportunity awaits you!

Hey! why does everyone keep talking about t-shirts? I was accepted ED and have yet to own a cornell t-shirt :(

It took a while for my child to get his shirt, but it eventually came.

they sent you an email and you had to go to the website and order the t-shirt.
