Yeah yeah, so I mooched it from other college threads. It's a pretty decent idea, nonetheless.

Accept: top 2%, 2 enormous passions with leadership/awards, bio research/training institutes
Defer: nothing national, if they're in a 1500+, 3X750+ mood, okay bio rec, school doesn't offer many AP's and won't allow college courses to be taken during the school year
Reject: they think my essay blows

Reject: Very few leadership awards, submitted a 580 SAT 2 score along with my others, and it would be just my luck. They probably do not like my essay, either. Also, I submitted my teacher recs late because I forgot to ask my teachers to fill out the Duke forms. They're probably saying "haha, that idiot doesn't deserve to be accepted because he can't follow directions."

Accept: #1 in class (4.0 uw GPA), major leadership positions in all ec's on app., passionate & personal answer to the "why Duke?" question

I worked at a little local engineering firm (heck, they don't even have a website) that did mechanical, electrical, etc. plans for businesses, colleges, etc. using AutoCAD. I didn't apply to Pratt b/c I am not 100% sure I want to go into engineering, and I spoke to an admissions officer and she recommended applying to Trinity b/c it is fairly easy to transfer into Pratt, IF I am admitted and choose to do so after taking some classes. What kinda stuff did u do at your work?

Accept: High testing scores, perfect grades in all math science classes (Pratt), top 20% at elite private school, great recs, two varsity sports (4 years)
