EDI Applicants?

Hi there!

I just decided to make a thread about those who applied EDI to CMC this year!

Feel free to post your stats!

Good luck everyone! :)

Hi! I’m applying EDI to CMC as well!

I won’t go into a ton of detail but
New York
Public High School
33 ACT
3.88 UW
10 APs: Micro, Macro, Calc BC, Psych, Comp sci, Physics B, US, English Lang, English Lit, Euro (4’s on all the ones I took 10th and 11th)
Solid amount of leadership positions (mix of academic and social extracurics)

If there’s a weakness on my application it may be my essays. My Atheneum and why cmc essays were great but I still don’t like my common app essay
I love CMC more than anything <3

Applying EDI to CMC.

Rather not share my stats; my fit is off the charts.

Hey, did you guys receive any sort of confirmation from cmc that they had received your application?

My son applied ED1 to CMC. He fell in love with the school after a visit - it really is a perfect fit for him. Here’s hoping!

Current CMC Junior here - would be happy to answer any questions regarding admissions, culture, student life, academics, study abroad. Truly speaking, CMC/5C’s is my favorite place on earth - I am currently abroad and am terribly missing campus life.

Hi,
I am planning to apply for the merit scholarship, but I had a few doubts.
Since I am applying for the scholarship, I have to submit my application before Dec 1.
What do you suggest, do I apply as an RD candidate or as an ED2 candidate? How much of a difference will it make in my application process? Will it affect my chances of getting a scholarship?
I would be able to go only if I get financial aid. If I dont get financial aid, I wont go. To what extent will my asking for financial aid affect my chances of getting in?

Do you guys know how CMC is going to notify us? Is it through the mail, email, or through some student portal?

I think it’s through a student portal and they’ll probably mail it too

uhhh i don’t know about your first few questions, but I know that they have a need blind financial aid, so financial aid won’t affect your chances of getting in

Hopeful CMC ED1 applicant, do you guys know exactly when we are supposed to hear from CMC. Thanks

no idea :frowning: last year it was Friday the 14th so I can assume that it will be this Friday…good luck everyone!!!

My son is on pins and needles. He loved the school when he visited, had a great interview, and is right in line with their stats, but ED1 seems like such a random thing sometimes. Another day and a half I guess?

I called CMC yesterday because I did not receive an email of a link to their student portal… the admissions officer quickly resolved the problem, and shortly after, he told me that the notifications will go up Friday, December 13th (TOMORROW!!) at 5 p.m. Pacific time  I am so nervous!

rtalexa, did the admissions officer tell you whether applicants are just receiving notifications via email, or is there a portal they need to log into? Not sure if my son received any email of a portal link - he probably would have mentioned it, since he is also waiting nervously about CMC.

Moonmaid, I did not receive an email at first, which gave me access to their student portal. So what I did was call and the admissions officer sent me that email… they will most likely be using that student portal. I suggest you call and ask them about it! Best of luck to your son!

I asked him about it this morning, and he said he had received an email with student portal access last month, so he should be good to go. Good luck to you too!

Notifications have begun for ED applicants at CMC. Good luck to everyone and congrats to those that achieved the rare honor of acceptance to such an outstanding school.

And it is rare this year! Son received a rejection - apparently they are not giving any deferrals. He was disappointed initially but has decided to go with his 2nd choice, Tulane, where he got in early action with a very nice merit scholarship award. Congrats to those who got admitted ED, it is a big honor!

rejected… #crushed
