How much financial aid do you need?
@kikkydee we did not apply for aid. Parents did not think we would qualify. Do I have a shot?
Better than if you needed financial aid. Have you thought about taking a Kaplan prep class to raise your score? Or taking the ACT? Some people do better on one of the tests. My son did take a Kaplan prep class and it raised his overall ACT score by 5 points. Some people are just not that good at taking tests. Well, by applying early admission and no financial aid needed you have made the smartest move you could. You have a fantastic record but your scores are low. Honestly, no one can tell you what your chances are - those admission officers are the only ones who know. Best of luck to you!!!
Lehigh may state as most schools often do that they are “need blind” …but they are not. If they need to choose between 2 equally academically qualified students they will take the student paying the full ride. You have shown interest but should have also participated in the V.I.E.W. program to show them your extra interest. Your SAT’s are on Lehigh’s low end but that is only a part of what they look for. You obviously lack “geographic” diversity being from NY and probably bring no “ethnic” diversity to Lehigh as you did not mention any. If you are a female you are also at a disadvantage. Your hooks therefore are applying ED1 which will often offset the low SAT scores, not requesting financial aid and coming from a top ranked high school. If you are in the top 10% of your class you would be in great shape. After checking the odds from Vegas… I would definitely put the money on hearing you scream out at about 4:00 on Dec. 15th!
