I applied ED1… Feeling really nervous today… Could be any day now!!!
Anyone hear about ED1 yet? 4:38 pst?
My D got in! I hope everyone else got good news also.
Bummed. D rejected. Onward! Congratulations to all the talented and fabulous women who were accepted!
Does anyone know when they let people know about merit scholarships?
Sorry to hear that proudmama. I am sure your D will end up at a great school.
ACCEPTED! Scripps admissions are truly holistic - my ACT and GPA were far from perfect and below the average accepted student’s, I had only one award listed in my app, and I didn’t even take any SAT subject tests.
I think in the end, the supplementary materials I submitted was what made all the difference for my application - supplementary studio art portfolio + essays + highlighting the many ECs that correlated with my passion for art/media (art directors for both school newspaper and magazine run between several local schools, publications director for charity fashion show, director of 3 original plays in school festival, roles in musicals + theater productions for 4 years, choir/solo singing for 4 years, etc.). It might have also helped that in the IB system, I took both higher level art and film (which is unheard of) and had top predicted scores for both of them. Having a passion for something, and demonstrating that both inside and outside of the classroom is very helpful.
Congrats to everyone else who is part of the Scripps Class of 2022! And to all who didn’t get in: good luck on your RD apps. I know that you are all very talented and accomplished women and will definitely end up wherever you are meant to be!
Also, when do admission packages usually get sent out/arrive?
My daughter was accepted ED1 and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Her scores were on the low side for Scripps (1330), but she had an unweighted 3.89 GPA with all IB classes, and deep ECs – orchestra, modern dance, leadership positions, all things she’d been doing for many years and does at a pretty high level. She also wrote an essay that was quirky, individual, and showed what a thoughtful person she is, and I’m pretty sure she got some rave reviews from her teachers. I’m posting this just to encourage other students whose scores aren’t in the middle 50% range. The Prep Scholar site (which seems designed to sell SAT prep programs) made it seem very unlikely that she’d get in. I’m so glad she wasn’t discouraged, because Scripps seems like a perfect fit for her.
did you send in a resume?
