Anyone else applying to Kenyon EDI? I am!

I'm so nervous/excited to see what happens...

Yep, I've nearly submitted all of my application. I've just got to finish up the common app essay. I am also very, very nervous. But today as I was going through my calendar, I noticed that we find out in exactly five weeks! Ahh!

yep, sending my stuff out this saturday.

way nervous.

I just sent the last bit. Now the wait begins.

I promised myself that I'd submit my ED application before I start on my summer camp counselor application. Now I'm looking forward to doing that without second-guessing everything I write! Proofreading college essays is a nightmare because I start to doubt the coherency and interpretation of everything. Aghhh! But it's done now. Hopefully?

Oh, I know exactly how you feel! I've read and gone through all of my essays hundreds of times..

I've promised myself I wouldn't look at any of my essays again until after Kenyon makes its decision--just for my sanity!

Haha, that's probably a good idea. For the sake of sanity, of course. But this whole waiting thing is already eating me from the inside out! I was at a friend's house this evening, and I had a sudden strong feeling that I had forgotten to submit something. I went through the checklist in my head and couldn't think of anything. It was scary, and I'm sure it'll happen again. But as of now it's one-and-a-half hours too late!

I got a confirmation email today saying all my stuff was in..

nervous.....we'll see what happens

Did the confirmation email begins along the lines of "Congratulations! Kenyon College has received your application. You can complete Part II: Common Application and Part III..." I guess I got a confirmation email from common app also, but I'm a little worried that I messed something up because I submitted the parts out of order (athletic, arts, 3, 1, 2). I haven't gotten anything about confirmation for all my materials. Hm.
29 daaayyyysss.

I did ED1!
I'm SO nervous.
eek.

Oh, wait. I got the regular confirmation email. Stress level just dropped about 1% phew.

Guess what day is in exactly THREE weeks? That's right. The 15th. I've been doing some creeping, and it appears that last year, ED applicants got their letters starting on Monday the 17th. However, this year the 15th falls on that Monday, so maybe, maybe we'll get ours then? I'm counting the days now, but I'm sure I'll start dreading its arrival as the days dwindle. Ahh so nervous!

I think the letters get mailed out on the 12th, so it's very plausible we'll have our decisions on the 15th...

Wow, I'm so nervous...!

So I've been reading about all these other schools that have seen monstrous jumps in their ED applications this year. Has anyone heard anything about Kenyon's numbers? It would be just my luck if Kenyon's ED applicant pool doubled!

I mean, we all know that Kenyon's a great school, but let's hope (for now, at least) that it's a well kept secret.

Oh, and guess what? 17 days. AHH!

I read somewhere that their ED numbers are pretty similar to last years!

That's good to know. Hopefully the acceptance rate still hovers around 50%. I'm already planning out December 15th. Our mailman is inconsistent, so the letter could possibly arrive before lunch. I will hopefully win the car-battle on that day, enabling me to speed home during lunch and check. If it's not there, I'll come back in that fifteen-minute window I have between school and track practice. I may have to bring a friend on each occasion because I doubt I will be able to open the letter myself. I can hardly look at the grades on my weekly calc quizzes, how am I supposed to open a letter that determines my life's (basically) fate?!? Ohh boy, but right now it feels like December 15th will never actually come, so I'm not worrying too much about that. Hah.

Anyone else a Virgo? I got this idea from some other college thread, but it looks like we have a pretty good week coming up soon... I especially like "A goal or vision you have been working toward comes into fruition now"

Monday, Dec 15, 2008
Your competitive, aggressive, and/or sexual energies are stimulated, and your temper is apt to be aroused also. Patience, especially with family members, is in short supply.
Tuesday, Dec 16, 2008
Communication along personal lines, such as corresponding with a friend or telephoning a relative, are favored. Memories, thoughts of the past, or even fragments of dreams come into your mind.
Wednesday, Dec 17, 2008
You are more distressed than usual over any dissonance in your environment or personal relationships, and you are inclined to avoid serious discussions or real disagreements with others. Also, challenging mental work and concentration is difficult for you now.
Thursday, Dec 18, 2008
A goal or vision you have been working toward comes into fruition now, or gains momentum and positive recognition from others. You feel expansive and inclined to take risks, and you may be overly extravagant now.
Friday, Dec 19, 2008
You feel lucky and are apt to overestimate yourself or the possibilities in some situation. Don't over commit yourself or promise too much, as you're apt to feel foolish or overextended later. Your mood is jovial, however, and social relations are good.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I sure hope my letter comes on the 18th!

I'm applying ED1 too, and completely freaking out. Kenyon posted a thread on this website saying that they would be sending out the decisions on December 15th, which, for me, at least, probably means I'll get it the 17th. Thirteen days. Good luck everyone! I think I might look up my horoscope for that day, too. :)

Does anyone know if Kenyon sends out e-mails in addition to their decision letters? I live overseas, so if they send out their decisions on the 15th I won't get it until the 20th! Ahh, so much waiting!!! :(

Yes, they send e-mails to their international applicants.

I seem to recall reading that emails are sent to international applicants. But I could be wrong.

Assuming the letter comes around the 17th... 10 more days!!
