thanks so much for the help!

Um, I don’t think Berkeley knowing that your dad had cancer will help you get into Emory. Besides that point, I’m very confident that you’ll get in if you do either early decisions. I was amazed that peers of mine got in with a 3.5 gpa, decent SAT’s, and no EC’s. In my opinion, I think Emory really wants to accept any decent applicants in the early decision rounds so that they have students going there for sure. In fact, they chose these average students (in my opinion) in the early decision round over friends of mine who applied regular decision and got into schools such as Duke, UChicago, UPenn, Wellesley.

To summarize, make sure you demonstrate interest and you’re in.

Demonstrated interest is very important, but there are many very well qualified applicants that apply ED. The fact that your GPA has been trending upward, especially in light of the personal challenges you faced, is good. If you’re interested in playing tennis for Emory, you should try to get recruited… that will help.

Also, it’s not really believable when you post “This is where I want to go…” in both the Emory forum and the Berkley forum…

and use berkeley in your post. You shouldve at least taken the time to change that to emory

Never mind. Someone said that oops

Sorry for the mistake guys, figured I could use the same post for my top 2 schools, forgot to edit that little part.
