Or just list a club i was a member of for 4 years
Thanks in Advance

Which EC to add? Not sure – I like them all!

Guitar, since it shows breadth
Martial Arts, since it shows discipline (was your experience recent?)
Blog, since it shows creativity and initiative (but maybe don’t include if it’s no longer active?)

Are you attaching a summary of your ECs in a resume form so you don’t rely only on the Common App list slots? Our kids used attachments to their RD common apps. Their attachments were edited and edited again and again so that they were concise, easy to scan, with cogent brief descriptors and on a sort of timeline easy for readers to follow. There are plenty of examples of these online. You want to list things that are real and relevant.
I like your paid work a lot and your referee work a lot. It implies you would be a likely candidate to help run club sports on campus or to help Vandy students do sports club service work in Nashville. Vandy is looking for people who won’t stay on the sidelines and who will likely be active in a couple venues on campus.
Club memberships are not worth mentioning unless you had tasks to carry out and complete for the greater good of the club that are specific contributions. Or if you were elected to an honors club…you could state the requirements for selection but no need to go on about it unless the club does service projects you carry out.

Haven’t really heard of anyone from my school doing that.
Can you direct me to an example?
Thanks

I listed my other clubs in the Additional Information section.

attaching a resume is optional…keeping in mind that our son applied 5 years ago and things change rapidly on the Common App. Also credit should be given to Vandy admissions. They are skilled at judging students based on their Common App alone and will build a student body that includes students who didn’t create an attached resume. The attached resume really does take some effort since you have to be very intentional and clear about your goals for admissions purposes. It is all about communication and recognizing that clarity is crucial.

thanks from me, too, Faline2. OP, I like your chances. I would put them at 50-50 or slightly better. Those ECs are the kinds of experiences Vandy likes to reward. The 32 is within sight of what got accepted for ED. The GPA is a concern but the ECs can perhaps be seen to explain the GPA to some little extent. Good luck.
