Editor of a student newspaper breaks national story

The Managing Editor of the Kent Stater, Emily Mills, broke this story of national interest. It is in The New York Times today. This is an example of the type of opportunity that working on the student newspaper can open up. This young woman will have her pick of job offers from news outlets.

Good story but “… said the agents told her they began scrutinizing Dr. Pino more than a year ago…”
IME FBI agents never share any information about an investigation.

I saw a brief teaser on the news last night but didn’t hear the details. He shouted “Death to Israel” at a speaker and he remained employed at Kent State? “Jihad until victory?” There were clues.

What are you saying? What’s the “but?”

Wow, now that would be some interesting material (the professor and his schtick) for the college newspaper.

Apparently, the paper had been reporting about this professor for years. On Tuesday it was the first media outlet to report that the professor was under FBI investigation.

I’m so surprised they would say anything. They are trained to not give any info on their cases.

At any rate she did a great job and I’m grateful she kept reporting on him. He certainly ranked scrutiny. She sure has distinguished herself from other student reporters.
