Education at Penn (CAS)

I searched through Penn's website and guess what, I couldn't find anything on education. It's not in the list of departments. I don't get it: does Penn not have an education deparment?

If there is one, anyone here majoring or minoring in education at Penn? Can you talk about your academic experiences? I'm mostly interested in education policy. Many thanks!

Right, it doesn’t have an education dept. at CAS. Education isn’t offered for undergrads. You might have better luck looking at the GSE site: http://www.gse.upenn.edu/

Thanks mattwonder! But can Penn undergrads do courses in GSE?

You should look into Northwestern’s school of Education and Social Policy…

coolc, look at

<a href=“Office of the University Registrar | Penn Student Registration & Financial Services| Penn Srfs”>Office of the University Registrar | Penn Student Registration & Financial Services| Penn Srfs;

you can probably take most of those courses, at least those below 500.

Thanks Rudess! So what are the most popular subjects in UPenn?

I imagine economics is the biggest as it is at most Ivies if not schools in general. One of my majors (international relations) is supposed to have around 300 people in it.

the largest majors majors in CAS are economics, english, history, biology and psychology (around 70% would major in one of or some combination of these). In Wharton, Finance is the largest major and in SEAS its bioengineering.

Thanks all for your inputs!

JohnnyK, are you being sacarstic again in saying that IR is SUPPOSED to have 300 ppl in it? And I say AGAIN because you are kind of famous for witticism at this forum…(take that as a compliment)

No, for once I am indeed serious. I heard someone say that the IR program has roughly 300 students in any given year.

I shall use my celebrity for purposes of good. Or evil, if it pays well.
