Nehru as in Kamala Nehru? That’s right next to where I live. Its a good college, but it stands no chance against Stephen’s.Ditto for Ramjas and the rest.LSR is the best girls college in Delhi. If you’re getting into Stephen’s then I recommend you grab the chance, coz the college is very very well reputed(one of the only recognisable in DU)and the teachers there teach very well. They are actually interested in their subject and their profession and academics is taken very seriously there. In every subject, you are encouraged to think, contrary to a few above posts. You shall definitely enjoy the experience there. This is however true for only a limited no. of colleges,Stephen’s and LSR feature in the small list.
Being white/whatever makes no difference with your college crowd(which is what you should be bothered about). If the street crowd ‘treats you like royalty’,then it shouldnt matter, its better than being secluded innit? And Delhi is no longer that ‘foreigner crazy’ if you get my drift, mainly because there are many living here now.I personally have 3-4 neighboring families that are not Indian.
In my opinion,in Stephen’s/LSR you shall get an excellent education in the way that concepts are emphasized here and hence with that, you can tackle almost anything related to the topic.Application is much easier to learn than concepts.A true academic must have her concepts down pat.
Plus if you choose tpo study in India you would have ec=xtended family support.
I say,GO FOR STEPHEN’S!!(Or LSR if you want a girls college).

Which course are you looking at,bdw?

Oh no, Jawaharlal Nehru. My mom went to Kamala Nehru as a young’n! Lol.

So it turns out that based on my programs, almost all my classes would be through the program and not at the local college. So now I’m not sure if the college really matters if it’s only one class… ^___^;;

The study abroad program I am looking at is IES Abroad (which offers a class at Ramjas or Nehru) and through Brown University (Stephen’s and LSR). All things considered, I’m leaning towards the IES program :P

Unless there’s a big difference between first year and second/third year college kids, being white makes a huge difference. OP is not white though, so this is irrelevant.

^^^ Agreed. I read some evaluations from people who previously went, and white people still garner a lot of unwanted attention.

But yes, I’m not white, so… yeah XD

Yea, you’ll blend right in, until you start talking.

Bluebox-what?care to elaborate your statement?

I assume he/she has an American accent after living in America for 20 years?

The prev one of course.

Oh right. I know first year college students. I am one. And I know that any white person in my class would be treated differently.

The OP is considering lsr. That pretty much tells us the OP’s gender. ![]()
Idk,i think they would be just nice to her…unless they’re the ‘classic dps snob’!jk. ![]()
god,i need to get off this site!

Classic DPS snob? Omg.

And yea, they’d be nice, but not the usual nice. It would be a rather artificial, sticky nice.

Oh yea, that does tell me the gender. Damn I didn’t see that.

Okay, yeah,i too would treat anybody in india who was not brown with delicacy.

Not really delicacy. Its more of a voyeuristic curiosity.

Lol!

10cgharr

Lol… delicacy? XD But I am brown, because I’m ethnically Indian!

But yes, I will inadvertently switch to English and I’ll be ruined. My Punjabi is pretty decent otherwise XD

And yes, I am a girl! Surprise!

None of us are surprised, we all realized that you’re a girl when you mentioned Lady Shri Ram College :P

Haha I dunno, blue-box used “he/she” for me not too long ago… :P

Tohru-oh english is just fine.you’re talking delhi.Your english and ‘firang’ accent shall be your ticket to being welcomed with air kisses in this fake accented city.
Punjabi?Nobody speaks punjabi in dilli,girl.

Oh yes, my impeccable American English will be my ticket to the life of luxury, lol.

And obviously nobody will speak Punjabi in Delhi, but, well… it’s better than my pathetic Hindi, soooo… XD
