Education Interruption on common app

Hi! If I am a fall 2014 applicant that is taking a gap year after graduating from high school, should I click on the tab "did or will take a gap year" when it says please indicate if your progression through secondary school was or will be delayed or interrupted in any way? iI am not sure if they want to know if you took a gap year during high school or after high school. Thank you

Gap years are traditionally straight after high school or straight after college. A year out between high school years isn’t really a gap year regardless of what you do with your time.

So tick the ‘did or will take a gap year’ but put down that no, it won’t delay your high school graduation as you’ll be taking it after graduation.

In addition to ticking yes, you will need to explain briefly what you are doing in your gap year. This is often a critical component of an application from a student who is taking a year off, so give it some thought and put forth your best effort in this section.
