edx courses

If i complete an online course, will admission officers care?
Can I submit this information even now?

In the grand scheme of things, it won’t matter that much if you complete an edx course. If it comes up during your interview, great. But I wouldn’t go as far as ‘submitting’ this info.

WindCloudUltra,

I’m not sure there wouldn’t be a place on the application for this sort of thing. I know that when my son applied to schools last year, there was a place for academic pursuits outside of school, summer activities, etc. My son went to Christendom College for a Latin immersion camp one summer, had a blast, put it down. One summer, he taught himself the basics of Russian grammar and a little vocab. He put it down. Another summer, he played around with Sanskrit. He put that down, too.

I doubt any of these things was the thing that got him accepted to Harvard, but I think each one helped paint a picture of who he is, what his interests are, the breadth and depth of those interests, how seriously he pursued them, etc. I’d be willing to be that each one helped frame my son to the admissions folks.

I’d be surprised if the poster’s completion of an edx course is going to be determinative, but it is a small detail that may add to the overall picture he presents of himself to the admissions folks.
