EE and Business

I've been having some difficulty choosing schools with a good engineering program(degrees up to phD) with a good business program. Because I'm still on the edge between the two majors, I would prefer the school that I am applying to, to have a nationally ranked, or nationally recognized engineering and business programs.

So far I have...
Stanford
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Cornell

I'm hoping to have at least 3 high reaches and 3 middle. I have already decided on my safeties.

Any other schools that should go on?

This is the exact same situation I was. I chose UIUC because I was leaning towards engineering but not 100% (but who is). If that didn’t work out for me I figured I could transfer into a pretty good business school and do accounting which is also highly regard. In the end I chose to stick with EE. I would definitely suggest UIUC. Stanford would also be a good choice though.

UC Berkeley? good engineering and good business right there.

Berkeley and Michigan

MIT has one of the best business schools in the country.

Penn has the M&T program where one receives a engineering degree from Penn and a business degree from Wharton.

HitMan got it right on the spot!

MIT’s Sloan school of management is ranked 2nd in the national while it’s Engineering is ranked 1st. How much more elite can you get?

Penn has the Wharton School of business, which is ranked 1 but is strong on the non-computational specialties (unlike MIT’s Sloan). It’s Engineering program, however, is a bit weak compared to more other top Engineering schools.

But also don’t forget UC Berkeley. It’s Haas School of Business is ranked often 3rd in the nation, AND it’s engineering program is stellar (of course ot as good as MIT’s).

As far as rankings go…I doubt there’s that much of a difference between #10 and #1. Just go for whichever place interests you more.

In addition to MIT, Berkeley and Michigan are:

CMU
USC
UCLA
Texas
Northwestern

and maybe

Notre Dame
Rice

Lehigh University, PA

What do you guys think about Duke and Carnegie Mellon?
