EE area of specialization

<p>I seem to have actual interest to go into Power as an area of specialization for EE. Although it's not exactly the most popular area. Where exactly would some one in Power work at? Is it mainly working at a power gen plant or consulting (ex: Booz Allen Hamilton)? And are you required to take the PE exam?</p>

<p>Currently I'm a junior at Penn State. This year its all the core EE classes. I'm taking my area of specialization electives in the senior year. Though my school suggests to take courses in at least 3 areas. So my two main areas of interest are power and control systems.</p>

<p>power plant design & distribution I would think would be a good area. The infrastructure in the US is pretty dated so should see some good investment over the next several decades.</p>
