Al rite. Here is my situation right now.At my school , Electrical and Computer are in the same department.
The degree requirement for both majors are quite similar. There are only those classes below are different:
Electrical engineering taking while Computer engineering taking
Material Science Discrete Structure for Engineer
Intro to Power Engineering + lab Data Structure for Engineer + lab
Adv Semiconductor Adv VHDL or Verilog + lab
Communication System Computer Network + lab
After that EE students choose to study their own concentration . For CE students, we have to take everything about Digital System, Mircoelectronics , etc. Im doing CE because I don't want to take Material or Power engineering but right now I also want to go in to Communication .As a CE student , I can choose whatever courses an EE takes to get done an emphasis toward my degree if I get the pre-req but I wonder will I be able to get a job in that field with that kind of certificate toward my degree? ( I will miss 2 or 3 courses about Communication). I don't want to change to EE because as I said I don't like Power, Materials. Im OK with programming and stuff. What should I do?

Communications, Signal Processing, Analog & mixed signal design is the domain of EE. CE is digital design, software, networks, firmware, embedded systems, AI, Graphics etc.

Do EE if you want to design ckt’s, communication systems, control systems etc. Do CE if you want to design digital chips and embedded or software products.
