EE major UCSD vs UCLA

I am a transfer student and i havenot submitted my SIR yet.

IS that too late to submit SIR?

i cannot make the desicion if i should go to UCLA or UCSD. My major is electrical engineering. anyone can give me some ideas?

I kinda prefer UCSD cause i v been stay here for 3 years. I am an international student so i have to the same tution for both school and neither of them will give me any money.

Also i think SD has lots IT companies which is easier to find jobs and internships.

BUT ucla sounds famous. Just wondering does ucla has lots IT companys around?

I do believe UCSD is generally looked upon as a better engineering school, but both are fantastic. You should visit both and see which one better suits your social needs, as both greatly vary in that aspect. Wherever you choose, your odds of getting a job will be about the same with that degree.

It sounds like you’d rather go to UCSD but can’t give up the name of UCLA. PErsonally, I was admitted there and UCB, and I chose UCSD. It’s one of the youngest UCs and it’s already quickly rising. There’s no doubt in my mind it is one of the best schools in the nation and it will continue to grow better. You can’t go wrong picking UCSD.

UCSD and UCLA are very similar in rankings for engineering. The only reason UCSD is viewed as an engineering school is because many of it’s other programs aren’t ranked as high whereas UCLA is pretty well-rounded academically.

Visit both schools and visit their departments. If you’re planning on working in California/US, UCLA’s name won’t matter too much compared to UCSD. If you’re working outside of the nation, people might not have ever heard of UCSD.
