wow, i just hope that i don't get a "possibly"

me too. obviously it's good because we would still have a chance, but it would be frustrating to be stuck in the same place for another month or so.

Yeah I don't think I'd be able to sleep if I got one!
Then again, the reality that likely/unlikely letters will be mailed out soon is starting to hit me, and I'm already starting to stay up all night twitching with anticipation :]

this may sound really stupid...but here goes:

what type of wellesley applicants are most likely to get the "likely" letters, assuming that they didn't apply for the early evaluation...??

Are you asking on what conditions an applicant would get a likely letter other than for Early Evaluation?

yah....

thx

same here, since they skim over our apps before sending out the likey, possibly, unlikely letters...does this mean that their decisions are more GPA and SAT score based? (cuz if it is, then i'm in trouble) or do they actually read our essays too?

yah..i'm thinking of the same thing. i would think that they would consider both...but in general, what are the type of applicants who get the "likely" letters...please don't tell me "outstanding" or "unique" (i've already figured that out...) but what is it that is going to make the admissions committee jump over the fence for you and offer you that wonderful piece of paper???

oh yah.. and as an estimation, how many people will get the "likely" letters...?

(these questions definitely seem aimed for the admissions committee...)

lol, i have no idea, i wish that they would have another wellesley chatroom set up cuz the one that they had 2 months ago was really helpful

Yeah I never got to go to that chatroom, I missed the date for some reason and I realized it a few days later.

hmm so I've been using the search feature, and it seems that applicants from the past two years have gotten their EE notifications starting Feb 18.

Anyone starting to count down the days yet? ;]

18th?? wow, that's pretty early....omg, i'm getting more and more worried each day, aren't u?

eeek i keep thinking its a lot closer than it is... too bad my counselor won't mail out my mid-year report until like tomorrow so i'll be looking at the end of the month... COME SOONER PLEASE

are we going to use this thread to post stats/decisions/whatever? or no? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHihatesecondsemester

heeheeee I'm getting nervous now too.
I don't know, do you all want to use this thread as the "official EE thread?" It would be nice since it's already titled EE Notifications.

man.
i wish i had applied early evaluation...procrastination is definitely not rewarding, but i did end up writing a pretty good short answer...

yeah, let's just keep this the official thread :)

i wish i had applied early evaluation...
I wish I could've applied EE. Even though I've lived in the US for six years, I have to apply as an international student, which means I'm only allowed to apply RD. My college counselor thinks I'll get in, but I think she's being a bit too optimistic, and it'd be nice to have some sort of indication in advance. Anyway, good luck with EE decisions! :)

My D thought for months that she got in to W because we pestered them so much. There is nothing wrong with keeping your name front and center as long as you do it with class. You don't need to bury them in emails and paper, but timely and pertinent updates should be fine, especially if they can show extra effort on your part to 'measure up'.

My D found out after four months that she really did belong at Wellesley and is becoming happier by the day.

Hello TheDad. I'm glad your D is enjoying Smith.

Feb 18 is pretty close! Good luck to everyone!
