Now all I need is about 160k.

congrats everyone! :)

Congratulations to everyone receiving a "Likely." It's such a civilized process that Wellesley does. I wish other colleges would emulate them.

Ladies,

Please study for your exams! My mentee who is currently a senior a Wellesley also a received a likely letter her senior year of high school. Her second semester grades slipped and Wellesley threatended to recind its' acceptance. She had to write admissions a letter explaining why her grades slipped (I do not know the details) in order for admissions not to recinded. It worked out, but why go through the hassle.

By the way she has done very well at Wellesley, double major, junior year abroad, two January terms abroad, internships each summer and a sweet job in NYC after graduation.

Mizo, I know,I've heard about such things. I will be a good student and study now ;-)

^^^haha likewise, i treasure my gpa, and i'd be the last person on earth to let it slip. still, i deserve a little celebration, right?

I got a "possibly/maybe" and to my surprise, I took it really really really well, considering that it's my #1 school....it's so weird that my Wellesley "maybe" letter was accompanied by an acceptance letter from Brandeis with 15K scholarship because I couldn't even enjoy the acceptance :( for the other two girls that got "maybe," what do you think we should do to increase our chances cuz i'm not gonna give up on Wellesley :)

booo i got a "possible" :(

it's ok, we still have control of our admissions...i think...as long as we convey to the adcoms that we're worthy enough :)

you'll live :)

flootloop...i am so sorry that you got an unlikely, was Wellesley ur first choice? please don't be discouraged and maybe call the office and ask them what you can do to improve ur chances (i'll be calling them tomorrow too) and i really wish you the best of luck

i got a likely! omg i did not expect this...seriously i got a 1980 on my SAT's so hopefully this gives hope to those that may not have the best stats in the world! I have to say, Wellesley truly looks beyond the numbers.

Anyway, congratulations to everyone who got in, I hope I may meet you all soon in april! also to those who got possibles, don't lose hope. I know a close friend of mine who got a possible last year but managed to get in regular decision. so chin up! Lastly, to those who got an unlikely, I'm really sorry. But remember, that it's really not the end of the world. there are ton of other colleges out there waiting that are possibly more of a fit than Wellesley.

oh btw, flootloop maybe we'll see each other at Bowdoin? :)

aww, you aren't the only one. i got an unlikely too. hugs I wish you the best, flootloop.

i applied to beloit, emory & henry, hiram, knox, lawrence, reed, and smith. i've gotten into all except reed and smith as i won't hear from them until late march. smith and beloit are my top two choices right now

hey flootloop, if u really still want to go to Wellesley, I would still call them just in case...i dunno the acceptance rate for unlikelys but i'm sure that if u call, u'll be one of the few pple that shows real interest in the school and maybe they'll take that into account :)

The acceptance rate of Unlikelies is, like, zero. At least that's what it was for the two years that I had the full stats on and I have no reason to believe that anything would change that.

It's laudable to try to take away the sting from someone but not with counterfeit hope.

om gggeeeeeeee

stats-really really bad except i have a 3.7 a really damn hard school
my sat's were like 1720 or something and they still gave me a likely!!!!!

i think what helped is that i met with the Dean of Admissions during my visit and talked to her during coffee hour not realizing she was the Dean and I mentioned her in my Why Wellesley essay.

network it juniors!

ahhH~

Congrats to all the other likelies! Maybe we'll all be able to see each other there.
And for the rest of you possibles, we're really rooting for you!
