EE Postgraduate in the UK

Hi guys,

I'm from Argentina and I'm about to graduate as an Electrical Engineer in some weeks, when I finish my final project and as I won't have enough time to take the gre and the toefl before american colleges deadlines, I thought I could do a masters in the uk which are one year and the deadlines would not be a problem because they give students more time....around february if i'm not wrong.....

So far I've found an MSc program which I'm interested in (Wireless Embedded Systems) from the University of Newcastle......I need too keep looking for more options....(Any opinions about the University of Newcastle?)

In that year that I might be in the UK, I would take the GRE to probably apply to an american college but to persuit a PhD as I would already have an MSc......
Besides all that....it would be a really nice experience to live at least one year in europe!

Is there something like "educationUsa" but for the UK??
What do you thing about my plan? And most important....any opinions about UK Colleges?

Thanks!

The University of Newcastle is well respected. But it also has the reputation of the ultimate party school (actually, ultimate party city) in the UK. Do you want that?

How does the ultimate party school reputation affect the academic part? I care more about academics…Would it be worth it even that “bad” reputation?
