EECS and Regents

If I chose EECS as my major when I applied to Berkeley, and I got invited to interview for the regents scholarship, does this DEFINITELY mean that I got into Berkeley's EECS program?

The reason I ask is that EECS is an impacted major, and I am paranoid.

Thanks.

Please read other Regent's threads.

I did. I still don't know whether it means I'm in at Berkeley, or in at EECS specifically.

You're in at EECS.

Can one of these Regent's threads get stickied?

I've never heard of someone getting accepted to Berkeley but not to their major. Spring admission does happen, but that's for really borderline people. If you got a Regents' invitation, you're in the top 4% of the applicant pool, so I'm pretty sure that you can get into any major you want to. The only source of doubt would be the fact that in general those who apply to EECS have higher stats and are more likely to get the invitation, thus creating a large imbalance in the percentage of invited people per major; two of the three people I know who got the the letter applied to EECS.

hmm....
...I thought Berkeley admissions in particular (amongst the UC schools)
were specific to the Major.

You cannot change it once an admission is granted (Regents or not)
and have to graduate in a set number of years.... or ....
.....do I have this wrong...?

Berkeley admissions are specific to the individual sub-colleges: L&S, CoC, CNR and CoE. Only in CoE and CoC has major specific admissions. Also CoC only has two majors and it is relatively easy to go from Chem to ChemE and vice versa.

It also is possible to change colleges, but it is very difficult especially going in and out of CoE.

Isn't Chemical Biology in CoC as well?

My mistake. Forgot about ChemBio.
