EECS / CSE - Difficulty, Berkeley vs. UCLA?

I've applied to Cal and UCLA as an EECS / CSE (comp sci/engr) major, and from what I understand both schools offer very prestigious engineering degrees to students who graduate in these majors. But how does the difficulty compare between the two? Classes, etc. I have had a very difficult high school experience, taking a very rigorous courseload and while I'd like to have reasonably challenging courses in college, I'd also like to be able to have a social life sometimes too. :)

Thanks in advance!

Although I don't know much about UCLA's program, Berkeley's EECS is one of the hardest and most time-consuming majors on campus.

I believe Berkeley's EECS > La's EECS, but post on the LA forum to make sure.

May I amend my post to include both prestige and difficulty? Thanks Castel, are you referring to difficulty or prestige with that > sign? ;)

I'd say the difficulty of EECS is comparable at both. Berkeley has an edge in general prestige and in EECS too.
