How intensive is Econ 1? Would you guys recommend replacing econ with another humanities elective? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks for your help.

i am also an incoming eecs freshie and i'm taking the same classes except for philo6 instead of econ1 :) from what i've heard, cs61a isn't too bad if you have had prior programming experience.

I would taken Econ 1 if you are really interested in Econ 1. However, it probably is not the easiest course you could choose, and is going to feel more like your other courses than a real humanities course might (economics is "social science", strictly speaking, not humanities). Just for change of pace, it might be worth choosing something else. Those four are all pretty dry and technical.

pretty standard first semester eecs schedule. it will be challenging and tough intro to berkeley, but will orient you to the environment well. ditto to kenfi about econ 1. take it if you're interested in taking more / UD classes in econ, have prior experience (hs) in it, or just for the hell of it. it will be more work-intensive and demanding than other, fluffier humanities.
