I'm a student at DA, and filling out the transfer application this fall.
I was thinking about applying to EECS, but then I'm not doing very well in physics (4a, and too late to drop too).
AFAIK EECS & CS are two similar major (or similar enough), only one offered by L&S and the other by COE.

so I'm thinking about applying to CS instead, will that give me a higher chance getting into the school? (since phys is not a requirement anywhere)
or in general which one of the two is easier to get in from a ccc? and what is the GPA for admission?

If I were you, I wouldnt choose on which to apply based on which is easier. If you have an interest in EE then go for EECS if you are ONLY interestd in CS and nothing else, not interested in circuits or electronics then go for CS. Also, in CS you will have to take more humanities classes and you will need 27 upper div credits to grad while EECS only requires 20. You may want to consider that. CS awards a BA degree (bachelor of arts) while EECS awards BS degree which is (Bachelors of Science). Obviously, UCB is very well known for their EECS program.

Personally, I’m doing Computer Science too. But you do realize that if you dont get in berkeley with CS in L&S you wont get into any other schools for computer science so you’re also taking a HUGE risk there. CS in berkeley is hard to get in too so I would also rethink that situtaiton because all of the other UC’s have prereqs like EECS’s prerequisites.

I’m interested in both, but CS is much more important. I’d like to take EE if I have the chance. I mean if I have equal or better chance to get in I’ll apply EECS.

I’m not sure about the part “wont get into any other schools” but I think you’re probably referring to prereqs. so yeah, I actually plan to take every EECS prereqs just to be safe.

Zillac, if u take every eecs prereq, it still wotn satisfy the cs (L&S) prereq because u gotta do the L&S breadth requirements too. So you’ll have to choose one. If ur into both, i’d just go with EECS. But the chances arent equal admission rate. I can tell you that.
