EECS or CS?

You only really need a good high school physics course to be prepared for Physics 7A and 7B at Berkeley. (An AP course certainly counts, but even a non-AP course, like the PSSC physics course, would be fine.)

In the College of Engineering, you can skip Physics 7A if you get a 5 on AP Physics C Mechanics. The Physics major does not allow skipping Physics 7A with AP credit, although they recommend taking Physics H7A (honors) if you have a strong physics background form high school.

NikeSwagDoe - I don’t think AP Physics will make or break your application. With your strong academic performance (GPA, test scores), you should be accepted with either physics class. It’s less about gaining admission and more about being better prepared after you’re enrolled in college. My son and the classmates that took AP Physics, scored 5’s, but did not take the college credit. All did well in freshman college physics. While taking regular physics, you could always just augment on your own with content from a self-study AP Physics workbook. With 6 AP classes, you will not have much extra time, though.
