<p>If you are really concerned about sampling the material beforehand, order a breadboard and a guidebook and play with it over the summer until you feel comfortable; that’s your “sampling” for your upcoming EE/circuits courses.</p>
<p>Btw, what I just said was completely optional because other people are also completely new to this; most of them are choosing EECS because they felt they did well in math and CS in high school, but no more. Even if you think you have taken enough CS classes, believe me, the CS classes in Berkeley will make you think that the previous experience doesn’t really matter. </p>
<p>As far as deciding whether you should emphasize EE or CS, I think you can come back to this question exactly 2 years from now on and still not be late. Worry one thing at a time!</p>
