EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!! oh no!

Another idea is to have the SAT score removed from your transcript and then apply to one or two more schools just in case the ones you've already applied to use that SAT score as part of your evaluation. Be very sure that the new transcript sent by your high school only lists the ACT.

Will colleges still use the SAT as part of the evaluation even if you never sent them the SAT score report?

how did u even get that low of a score

I didn't get to finish the test!
ah!!!!

So my counselor sent an email to all my colleges stating there were extenuating circumstances on the test day. The only thing is....she sent an one email to the schools (like all of the email addresses on one)....does this matter? I was going to say something but I didn't want her to have to write a separate email for every school.

Your counselor is an idiot. You should stop picking this particular scab because you're just going to make things worse.

Advice from a parent: I would send a very short letter (typed, hand signed, snail mail) addressed individually to each school (use your region's admission officer's name if you have it or can research it) explaining that you were notified during the actual test of the family emergency and had to leave the test center before finishing. This will go into your file along with your application and transcript and will therefore be sure to be noted.

I'm not sure that a group email from your GC will be enough to be noticed, but it will validate your personal explanation. I would guess that once they realize the circumstances they will only look at your ACT score.

Best of luck.

and not to be a pest, but you should have just cancelled the scoreif you weren't able to finish the test

as well, your parents should have let you finish the test...dead grandmother or not....grandparents would want their grandchildred to do well and would be mortified if they knew that their illness did anything to hurt their grandkids

I am saying this for OTHER people to see and be aware of

If my child was taking the SAT, and a family member was sick- my D would either not take the test and we would get right on the computer and sign up for the next available date, or she would take the test with her grandmothers blessing or if something happened in the middle of the test, we would cancel the score as soon as we got home and follow through with the GC, CB, etc

We can't let deaths stop our lives, no matter how sad they are, the dead don't want that

that being said, you need to have some FAXED to all the schools, about the score....did you take the test again, or not bother...

not bother...I'm sticking with my ACT score........yeah I know I should have cancelled the scores, it totally slipped my mind at the time.

Can't you take the test again? You've known you didn't do well from day one. Most colleges will superscore. However, if might come down to have some explaining to do. It's like when you go to traffic court and you plead guilty with an explanation. It'd better be good.

Well I've only taken the SAT once... and I'm so not taking it again....I will use my ACT score....because I like the ACT a whole lot better and I have a wayyyyyyyyy high score. I don't thing it'll be that big of a problem if I explain my situation, J'adobe

If the college you would like to go to asks for SATII's, they will get all of your SAT scores anyway.

i had a similar situation. i sent in an un-updated transcript so I had to ask my counselor to resend it. I called my college and they said they would throw away the old transcript if they received an updated one and just view that one. maybe your colleges will do the same?

i dont understand why u wouldn't cancel scores if u couldn't finish the test....but anyways, i think u should send contact the colleges and resend the transcript

the school just needs to say they sent a transcript that had an error...period....without a huge explanation

for all the college knows that score was a typo or someone elses, or whatever...
